This weekend I was asked to make a wrist corsage and boutonniere for the prom. I don’t usually accept single orders like that, but it was for my favorite baker’s daughter, and if I’ve learned anything, it’s not to say no to people who make great desserts. Her dress is black and teal with beading all over it, and the only request was that it not have roses in it. I think it came out beautifully! White dendrobium orchids and pink hyacinth florets are the main ingredients. And yes, that’s a band-aid. She can wear it anywhere she likes…upper arm, collarbone, ankle, and sure, her wrist. And everyone will wonder how it’s staying put. I am a genius.
